II: A Material God

Ippocalyptica A Material God is more of everything that Wesenwille offered on its already-impressive debut effort, but the most endearing aspect of this album is that the band is finding its own voice. This is no longer an “homage” to Deathspell Omega, but a fully-realised dissonant black métal statement in its own right. Wesenwille is drawing outside of the lines here, and the result is more than solid. At this rate of growth, there is no telling what wondrous works will come our way!
Cemnarion

Cemnarion A big step up from the already impressive debut, A Material God boasts a metric ****ton of riffs that keep you on your toes, a dizzying swirl of dissonance, relentlessly pummeling drums and a venomous vocal delivery. Favorite track: The Introversion of Sacrifice.

Dementicus Very good new effort from these local dudes. Ominous black metal with sharp riffing. Well done!

SEBASTIEN COTE I: Wesenwille was quite a nice surprise when a friend sent me the bandcamp link. I ended up listening a lot to this one. But first listens of II: A material god is even more satisfying as the album grooves more and experiments further than the first one. Definitely worth the attention of anyone into dissonant black and music that challenges the listener.

about

II: A Material God brings a strong mix of unrelenting and dissonant black metal with ample room for groove, atmosphere and experimentation. Compared to the debut I: WESENWILLE, everything has been taken a notch further. Aggressive bursts are even more unrelenting, and atmospheric passages have been given more room to develop. With the incorporation of even more diverse musical influences, this record truly shows what WESENWILLE is capable of delivering. This time around full production was in the hands of JB van der Wal, whose signature sound is unmistakably heard on II: A Material God.
